Who AM I?
Hey there! I'm Amit Desai, and I'm thrilled to welcome you to Amit Desai Visuals.
Born and raised in the bustling metropolis of Mumbai, my journey has been anything but conventional. While I completed my Masters in Finance in 2007, my heart always beat for the creative arts. In fact, during 2008-09, I even ventured into writing and became a published author with my book "The Gift - The New Science of Manifestation" - a milestone that taught me the power of pursuing one's passions.
Speaking of passions, photography had always been my first love. There was something magical about capturing moments through a lens, and my natural eye for design and detail only fuelled this obsession. This led me to establish Art Pixel Photography, where I specialised in destination weddings, fashion, and lifestyle photography.
The years 2012-2017 were particularly exciting - I'm humbled to share that I became one of India's most sought-after destination wedding photographers. My website dominated Google's first page search results for "best wedding photographer in India," claiming spots #1, #2, #3, and #5! I was also incredibly fortunate to be among the select few Indian wedding photographers to offer my clients the prestigious Graphistudio Wedding Albums, exclusively printed and shipped from Italy - an honour I'll always be grateful for.
However, life had different plans. After five intense years of wedding photography that took a toll on my physical health, I had to make the difficult decision to step back, despite my business being at its peak. I sold my website, wound down the business, and took a much-needed sabbatical.
During 2018-2024, I explored digital marketing and sold digital products online. But you know what they say - you can take the photographer out of photography, but you can't take photography out of the photographer! My passion for visual storytelling never faded.
The second half of 2024 marked a turning point, when I seriously reconsidered returning to professional photography. By late 2024, I made the exciting decision to rebuild my photography business from scratch, this time under a new identity - Amit Desai Visuals.
This new venture represents a modern fusion of photography and short film-making. I understand that in today's digital age, brands need more than just stunning photographs - they need compelling visual narratives that tell their stories authentically through both still and moving images.
With Amit Desai Visuals, I'm focusing on my true passion - photographing spaces. As a connoisseur of great design and beautiful aesthetics, I specialise in Interiors, Real Estate, Architecture, and Lifestyle photography. This specialisation not only allows me to maintain my health but also challenges me creatively, as it demands a deep understanding of architectural geometry, design principles, and visual harmony.
I'm currently in the exciting process of building this website, and I can't wait to showcase my professional work here. Each image you see represents my commitment to visual storytelling and attention to detail.
